Women Empowerment through group formation and promotion of micro-enterprises, is on top of the agenda of BAIF. Over the past few years, empowerment of women has been well demonstrated by all our self help groups by way of admirable leadership qualities, capacity building and development of self-confidence. Today, these women are playing a significant role in community development as well as the development of their family and leading a life of dignity while enjoying access to their rights.
Over 8000 Self Help Groups (SHGs) functioning in BAIF's operational areas, have demonstrated leadership qualities and are ensuring empowerment of women in their villages through various socio-economic activities.
To encourage the formation of SHGs and to recognise their contribution to community development, the BAIF Management has instituted an Annual Award - Dr. Manibhai Desai Gaurav Puraskar. This award comprises of a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a memento. |
