Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India, announces National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) every year and implements the campaign through appointing Regional Resource Agencies. BAIF has been working as a Regional Resource Agency (RRA) for Maharashtra, Goa and Dadra Nagar Haveli, since 1986. BAIF have been providing technical inputs in organizing field demonstrations and mobilizing NGOs for environmental awareness. As a RRA, BAIF have provided technical inputs for field demonstrations on various themes including solid waste management, biodiversity conservation, tree plantation, water conservation and climate change. The Ministry provides grant to the approved organizations to encourage them to take up local environmental issues and work on creating awareness in the community.
